Pediatric Occupational Therapists (OT) help children develop skills that are needed to perform their daily routine.  Often times people think “occupational” means to help one find a new job.  A child’s occupation is in the areas of play, school work, socialization, and self care skills.

Young children learn and develop significant skills/milestones through play and mastery of their environment.  OT’s use purposeful age appropriate activities to foster learning and development of skills needed to succeed in life.

A pediatric OT provides evaluation and treatment to all children who have learning, physical, sensory, developmental and social-emotional challenges due to various diagnoses.  Early assessment and treatment are vital in order to prevent future developmental and life skill difficulties.
